To add depth to your animation, or to simply create more complex results, you can choose to split a layer.

You can split a layer into two using different logics, some having more options than others. When a split is confirmed, the two generated layers will have a new initial split effect applied. These can still be tweaked independently but they might become misaligned. So it is better to test well the split earlier.

To initiate the split flow, choose the "Split..." option in the layer's menu.
